My Homage to William Bernstein
William Bernstein is one of the real heroes of retail investors (that's you and me). He's written several books full of down-to-earth investment advice. He's a neurologist and author and runs a boutique finance advisory firm.
Personal Finance Tips
So, who am I and why am I offering advice on money?
My name is George Tucker. I'm an average guy in most ways. My parents never taught me anything about money. I got in big credit card trouble when I was in college and very slowly and painfully had to figure personal finance out for myself.
Now I'm married, have a great job, a fabulous wife (and a new baby!), a retirement fund, no credit card debt, and extra money every month.
What did I do right? That's what I'm here to talk about. I hope that sharing my experiences, my knowledge and my research on personal finance and investing topics can help other people avoid the suffering I went through and make smarter decisions.
While you read my posts, there are a couple of things you should keep in mind: I'm not an investment professional. While I give you the best information I have, the information I give you is not guaranteed. Personal finance and investing decisions are a big deal and frequently involve risks, including the risk of losing your money.
Having said that, let's get started!
